I can finally reveal a couple paintings that I'd been saving to show until after Christmas!

The first one is my Mum at the Opera house in Paris. I've been chipping away at this for months, squeezing in a session or two in between commissions.

In the beginning I was sure I'd bitten off more than I could choke down with the perspective and seemingly endless pillars. But, bit by bit, everything slowly came into being, big shapes became smaller shapes and thin washes of colour changed those they covered.

If it seems like magic to you, it's not far off for me. Due to the big gaps between each painting session, it felt like starting a new painting each time, some stranger had started it and it was my job to continue. So cheers past Pauls for the decent foundations!
