"Nimepata job Majuu. Natoka next week!"✈️

Before celebrating, ask yourself: Have I verified the job offer? Fake overseas jobs are a common tactic used by traffickers.

Ensure you:

✔️ Confirm the company exists.
✔️ Speak to the employer directly.
✔️ Verify the recruitment agency is licensed in the National Employment Authority database or visit the nearest Labour Office.
✔️ Ensure you read and understand your contract.
✔️ Be cautious of unrealistic salaries.

If someone is rushing you to pay or travel immediately, that's a major red flag.🚩

Don't just trust. Verify!

1 in every 3 victims of human trafficking is a child.

Child trafficking thrives where children are left vulnerable. That is why safeguarding children is not optional BUT a responsibility we all share.

As parents, teachers, caregivers, community leaders, and neighbours, we must create safe environments where children are protected, heard, and empowered.

We must recognize the warning signs of exploitation such as unexplained physical injuries, fearful, excessive tiredness or hunger etc, promote safe reporting mechanisms, and ensure that every child grows up free from harm.

Not every child gets to simply be a child.
And not every story of labor, pressure, or exploitation looks like what we expect.

But there is still movement. There is still breath. There is still the possibility of release, protection, and change.

This work is about what we choose to see—and what we choose to act on.

As we wrap up this series, we appreciate for collaborating with us in this Red Kite Project through Visual Storytelling and Photography.
