SEVEN BURNT BODIES AND COUNTING WITH FEARS OF A SERIAL KILLER BEING ON THE LOOSE
When Government Fails to Honour the Victims, Communities Must Rise
Between June and August 2025, seven burnt bodies have been discovered in and around Eersterust. While authorities have apprehended a suspect in connection with one of these cases, concerns remain that other perpetrators, or a serial killer, may still be at large. In response, the Eersterust Youth Task Team is supporting the community campaign led by Voice It In Action, and residents are urged to attend a gathering TODAY, Friday, 29 August 2025, at 17:00, at Watloo Station (opposite the Eatery Restaurant). The purpose of this half-hour gathering is threefold:
• To honour the victims whose lives were brutally taken.
• To remind the community to remain vigilant: report suspicious activity and take precautions to protect themselves and their families while authorities continue their investigations.
• To voice our collective disappointment and anger at law enforcement and government, whose lack of urgency and accountability has left our community exposed and unsafe.
As we gather to mourn, let us take a moment to pray for the families affected by these brutal acts, offering our support and solidarity. At the same time, we rise to demand justice and protect our people, because if we don’t, who will? Enough is enough!

It is with great excitement that I share the news that one of our Task Team members, Lillith Holworthy, will be hosting her 3rd Talk Magazine Celebration. This year’s theme is powerfully and aptly titled: ’s Fix Our Country Together #.
Since its inception, Talk Magazine has celebrated 50 exceptional women, and this third edition proudly features 25 more, including two of our distinguished Patrons.
As shown on the attached poster, the event will be held at the SACI Incubator in Eersterust on Friday, 29 August 2025, with registration starting at 18:00.
Lillith’s events always exceed expectations, and this one promises to be no different! I encourage everyone to purchase a ticket, either for yourself or as a gift for someone deserving. Seats are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment.
But here’s the twist, you’ll need to attend the event or purchase a ticket to get your copy of the magazine and discover who these remarkable women are!
Let’s come together, be inspired, and take a step toward positive change.
Ingle Singh, Chairperson of the Youth Task Team
Good morning, Family
It’s been a while, and I trust that you are well. On our side at CPA, this week has been incredibly demanding. Since the launch, we’ve been under immense pressure, navigating tragedy, the weight of public concern, and a profound spiritual burden.
The most heart-wrenching moment has been the discovery of the woman who was murdered in Eersterust. In addition, circulating rumours have deeply unsettled parents, and we’ve been in constant engagement with both the police and the media regarding the four burnt bodies.
In the midst of it all, I was reminded of a powerful scripture, one of my favourites, from Jeremiah 12:5, which offers a timely and sobering call to spiritual resilience: "If you have raced with men on foot and they have worn you out, how can you compete with horses? If you stumble in safe country, how will you manage in the thickets by the Jordan?" (NIV)
This week, a woman of God, currently walking through the thickets of the Jordan herself, also reminded me that our battle is not against flesh and blood. The enemy often sends footmen into our lives to wear us down. These are the everyday battles designed to discourage us before the victory. But we must keep our eyes fixed on the greatness of our God. David also faced footmen, the lion and the bear, before he stood before Goliath. And after Goliath, he became king. This is why we must stay on our knees.
My prayer for us this weekend is:
Heavenly Father, Equip us with Your strength to endure and overcome both the footmen and the horses. Help us not to stumble, but to push through the thickets of life. In Your strength alone, we will advance against every challenge for the sake of our people. With You, we can scale a wall. By the power of the blood of Jesus, and through Your Holy Spirit, we will be victorious. In the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
To our women this Women’s Day: may you rise in the fullness of your God-given identity, clothed with strength and dignity. And to the men, thank you for your care and support. Your presence and strength are deeply valued.
Let us keep pressing forward, not in our own strength, but in His. In His name, we will overcome.
Live blessed. Live protected.
