๐ฟ๐ฆโจ Happy Heritage Day, South Africa! โจ๐ฟ๐ฆ
Today we celebrate the rich diversity of our nation โ and that includes the incredible heritage we share with the animals who walk alongside us. ๐ถ๐พ
Just like our cultures, every dog (and every species!) has its own unique way of learning, communicating, and connecting. By understanding behaviour and training with kindness, we honour that individuality and build stronger bonds. ๐
Hereโs to celebrating not just our human heritage, but also the heritage of respect, compassion, and care for all animals.
๐พ From all of us at CanisCampusโ Happy Heritage Day! ๐ฟ๐ฆ

๐ถ Myth Busting Monday!
โYou canโt teach an old dog new tricks.โ โ
Truth: Dogs of ANY age can learn new skills. Training helps seniors stay sharp, confident & connected.
๐ฌ Tell me โ whatโs the funniest or most surprising thing YOUR older dog has learned?
๐พ Training Tip of the Week ๐พ
Before grabbing the leash, start inside the house where distractions are low. โจ
Teach your dog that being by your side is the best place to be โ leash free first, then add the leash later. Consistency at home builds confidence outdoors! ๐

๐ซ๐พ Myth Busting Monday! ๐พ๐ซ
MYTH: Dogs misbehave because theyโre trying to โdominateโ you.
FACT: Most unwanted behaviours come from stress, fear, confusion, or simply not knowing whatโs expected.
Your dog isnโt plotting to take over the household ๐๐โthey just need guidance, consistency, and positive reinforcement to thrive. โจ
Letโs leave dominance theory in the past and focus on building trust, confidence, and happy dogs. ๐
๐ What training myths do you want me to bust next week? Drop them in the comments!
