Meet Zoe Plaatjes from Macassar High School. Zoe is 14 years old and is in Grade 8. 3 years ago, she had an unfortunate accident, which resulted in her being wheelchair bound. Zoe was an amazing netball player and had a bright future ahead of her, but this accident changed her entire life. She has a wheelchair to use at school. However, she did not have one for home. Caremax gave her a basic wheelchair last year that she could use at home, but we want to encourage her to do sport, so we arranged a solid aluminum sports wheelchair for her this year. This could only have been possible thanks to our amazing donors! Huge thank you to Caremax (Pty) Ltd, Yvonne from Independency CC in Strand, Selwyn Crotz, Berenice Barker, Verity van Eeden, Shani Khan and a few other anonymous donors for making this possible. You have totally changed Zoe's future for the better and given her hope that she can still do sport even though she is in a wheelchair! Much appreciation and gratitude for your generosity! 🙏🙏🙏

24 July 2023: Caremax was invited to do a demonstration of how to use the patient turning device at the Robert Sobukwe Nursing Academy. The Academy will be using our turning device for all the nursing courses in the future.
The Robert Sobukwe Nursing Academy is an accredited training provider with the Education, Training and Development Practices Sector Education and Training Authority (ETDP SETA) and registered with the South African Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (SAIOSH), SAIOSH is recognized by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) as a professional body to register Occupational Health and Safety Professionals in South Africa in terms of the NQF Act, Act 67 of 2008. Robert Sobukwe Nursing Academy is also registered with the Independent Examinations Board of South Africa (IEB) to offer the Foundational Learning Competency Program (FLC).
