Day 1 of Capacity Building in Progress
We kicked off our capacity-building session today as part of our ongoing commitment to organizational growth and system strengthening. Ms. Lungu of NCA-DCA through the JCP Zambia country office is facilitating the workshop, guiding members of team NOCAD through key processes and approaches aimed at enhancing organizational systems, effectiveness, and performance.
Together, we are investing in stronger systems, stronger teams, and greater impact for the communities we serve.

Strengthening Community Development Through Police Engagement
On 5 June 2026, NOCAD, with support from Law Enforcement Agency, NOCAD facilitated a community engagement session in Chikolonto Community, Gwembe District, aimed at strengthening safety, security, and social responsibility as part of sustainable development efforts.
Officers from the Zambia Police Gwembe, Sergeant Muhali and CIO Sikanyika, shared valuable insights on the key values that contribute to a healthy and progressive society. The engagement focused on:
✓ Public order and community safety laws
✓ Gender-based violence and child protection laws
✓ Alcohol and substance abuse
✓ Theft, assault, and vandalism
✓ Early marriages and defilement laws
✓ Cybercrime and the misuse of social media
✓ Effects of criminal behavior on families and community development
✓ The roles of traditional leaders, parents, youths, churches, and schools in preserving moral standards
✓ Community policing and crime reporting mechanisms
The interactive session enabled community members to develop practical safety and security road maps to guide collective action in safeguarding their community and development investments.
Recognizing the value of the engagement, local headmen requested a follow-up session that will include children and participants from neighboring communities, ensuring that the message reaches a wider audience.
