My little one,

Today, you turn one. A single year in the grand scheme of time, but to me, it feels like eternity and an instant all at once. I remember the day you arrived small, fragile, untouched by the world. In that moment, I thought I would be the one teaching you about life. But in truth, you have been teaching me.

You have shown me what it means to be present. Before you, my mind was always elsewhere chasing plans, solving problems, thinking ahead. But when you look at me with those bright, curious eyes, the world outside disappears. You remind me that happiness is not found in the future; it is in the now.

You have taught me patience. The sleepless nights, the cries, the endless energy I once thought these would exhaust me. Instead, they have softened me. In your tiny hands, I have learned to slow down, to breathe, to meet life with open arms instead of clenched fists.

You have given me the purest form of love. A love that does not ask, does not measure, does not expect. You do not love me for what I provide, or what I accomplish you love me simply because I am here. And that, my son, is the rarest love of all.

As you grow, the world will try to shape you, mold you, define you. It will tell you who you should be. But I hope you never forget who you already are. A soul unburdened by the past, unafraid of the future, fully alive in the present. Stay that way for as long as you can.
