We sincerely thank the Government of the Republic of Zambia for strengthening the justice system by ensuring that serious crimes such as r**e and child defilement are treated with the seriousness they deserve, including making them non-bailable offences.
This progressive legal stance demonstrates a strong commitment to protecting vulnerable members of our society, especially women and children, and reinforces the principle that acts of sexual violence will not be tolerated.
As stakeholders in Mental Health, child protection, and community welfare, we appreciate this firm position, as it helps deter offenders and promotes justice for survivors. We remain committed to supporting efforts that safeguard the dignity, safety, and wellbeing of all citizens.
Together, we can build a society where children are protected, justice is upheld, and perpetrators of abuse are held fully accountable.

Being a product of one's community means embodying the shared resilience, values, and lessons of the people and places that shaped your journey. This foundation instills a deep sense of accountability to give back, transforming personal achievements into collective progress. The value brought to the table is a unique blend of lived perspective and a mentorship mindset; by understanding the specific challenges and strengths of your environment, you can implement solutions that are both practical and culturally relevant. Whether through professional expertise or dedicated community service, the goal is to act as a bridge—using your growth to empower others, sharpen the next generation of leaders, and ensure that the ecosystem that supported you continues to thrive for years to come.

International Youth Day: Empowering the Future, One Voice at a Time
Every year, 12th march marks International Youth Day, a global celebration dedicated to recognizing and empowering the largest generation the world has ever known. With over 1.8 billion people aged 10-24, today's youth are not just our future; they are an unstoppable force shaping our present.
This day is more than a simple celebration; it's a vital platform for magnifying the voices, perspectives, and potential of young people worldwide. It serves as a reminder of the unique challenges they face—from access to quality education and mental healthcare to confronting climate change and securing meaningful employment—but more importantly, it showcases their remarkable resilience, innovation, and passion for creating a better world.
Why Focus on Youth?
The reason is simple: youth are the primary agents of change. They are often the most interconnected, technologically adept, and open to new ideas. History shows us that when young people are given the opportunity and tools, they are not only willing to challenge the status quo but are also highly effective at driving progress. From the digital activism that amplifies vital social causes to the grassroots innovation that tackles local problems, young people are at the forefront of positive transformation.
Investing in youth isn’t an act of charity; it’s a strategic investment in our collective future. When young people thrive, whole communities and nations thrive. Their economic contributions, unique insights, and fresh energy are essential for building a more inclusive, sustainable, and peaceful world for everyone.
Youth on the Global Stage
International Youth Day provides an opportunity for governments, international organizations, civil society, and the private sector to reaffirm their commitment to the development and empowerment of young people. It's a call to action to:
Ensure Inclusive Education: Provide equitable access to quality education that equips young people with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate the complexities of the 21st century.
Create Meaningful Opportunities: Generate decent jobs and entrepreneurial ecosystems that foster economic independence and allow youth to fulfill their potential.
* Prioritize Health and Well-being: Invest in comprehensive healthcare, including mental health services, that addresses the specific needs of adolescents and young adults.
* Promote Civic Engagement: Create safe spaces for young people to participate in decision-making processes, ensuring their voices are heard at all levels.
* Combat Climate Change: Empower youth-led environmental initiatives and ensure they have a seat at the table in climate negotiations.
Celebrating the Spirit of Youth
On International Youth Day, we celebrate the endless energy, the bold creativity, and the contagious optimism that define this generation. We hear their stories, recognize their achievements, and listen intently to their dreams. Their ability to dream big and imagine a better tomorrow is precisely what makes them so vital to the future of our planet.
As a society, our role is not to simply "prepare" them for the future, but to empower them to be the future. Let this day serve as a global affirmation that the power and potential of youth are not to be underestimated. By investing in them today, we ensure a brighter, more promising, and more equitable tomorrow for all.

“A principle you do not practice shames you by not benefiting you.” — Pastor Gift Kaputula
Growth is not about vibes alone it’s about values, discipline when no one is clapping, choosing what is right even when it’s not trending
At YDT, we don’t just talk about excellence we practice it, we don’t just preach integrity we live it.
We don’t just dream impact we build it on principles.
Because principles protect your future they guard your name they shape your influence.
This week, ask yourself:
What principle do I know… but I’m not practicing?
Let’s build on foundations that last, let’s grow with intention let us become leaders the next generation can trust.
We are grateful to God for a successful outreach program filled with love, smiles, and purpose. The visit was impactful, humbling, and truly reminded us why we serve.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, prayed, shared resources, and showed up in any way. Your support turned intention into action and compassion into impact.
Together, we didn’t just visit we touched lives
The Youth Development Team appreciates you deeply.
