The WRC 240(i) Rock Crusher in operation in Beilstein (Germany): Against the impressive backdrop of Metternich Castle on the Moselle River, a WRC 240(i) Rock Crusher from Wirtgen recently rehabilitated the L98.
During the pioneering and efficient road rehabilitation, the Wirtgen WRC 240(i) crushed and processed the asphalt remains of the binder course and the underlying rock pack layer in situ in a single pass after the damaged asphalt course has been milled off.
Relying on its innovative crushing and mixing technology, the WRC 240(i) then proceeded to create a new, homogenous base course directly on site, which will also be able to withstand high loads in the future.
The Beilstein road rehabilitation in numbers:
