Currently reading The Last Prince of Bengal and I’m amazed at how richly detailed it is. It tells the story of the Nawab of Bengal’s descendants—once rulers of immense wealth and power—who were gradually stripped of their kingdom and forced to navigate life under the British Raj and beyond. Reading about their fall from royalty to obscurity is both fascinating and heartbreaking.

What struck me most is how vividly it captures not just politics, but the human side—the struggles of identity, exile, and trying to find a place in a changing world. It reminded me why I first fell in love with reading about India years ago. This book has reawakened that old curiosity, and I can already see myself diving into more histories of India again soon.

Just finished Billion Dollar Whale — and wow, what a ride. It’s the unbelievable true story of the 1MDB scandal, showing how one man, Jho Low, managed to pull off one of the biggest financial heists in history. The book dives into how he fooled Hollywood, Wall Street, and even governments, funding a lifestyle of superyachts, private jets, luxury parties, and blockbuster movie deals—all with money that wasn’t his.

This scandal revealed just how fragile and corruptible global financial systems can be. If you’re into true crime, finance, politics, or just stories that sound too outrageous to be real, this one is a must-read.

It’s a timeless reminder that even in the darkest twists of fate, courage and friendship can steer the way forward.
