There are 333 species in the Psittacidae family. Psittacinae, or "real" parrots, is by far the biggest subfamily, with members found in warm climates all over the world. Seeds, buds, and various fruits and insects are eaten by these birds, which have a blunt tongue. Many species of the subfamily are simply referred to as parrots, while other subgroups have names including macaw, parakeet, conure, and lovebird.
