Our host questioned the safety and health of the special kids today, using an example from his own experiences of how they have been bullied by kids. And if so, if special kids were normalized and de-stigmatized then who would pay for the care and special needs that they require? In the United States, people are more prone to suffer from homelessness if they are suffering from a disability. More than 40 per cent of America’s homeless population are people with disabilities and the number appears to be rising, according to an annual report on homelessness from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
