An extremely rare BMW 530ML
BMW South Africa has fully restored a Homologation vehicle of the first generation BMW 5 series, called the BMW 530 MLE.
The Motorsport Limited Edition car was exclusively produced in South Africa in the 1970s and performed well on the racetrack. The restored car has undergone extensive work, which included participation from four former BMW workers from over 40 years ago.
The BMW 530 MiE is renowned for beginning BMW's motorsport involvement in South Africa and for being the most successful competition vehicle based on a BMW 5 series model, remaining active until 1985. The car has a 3.0 liter six-cylinder engine producing 147 kW/200 PS and a top speed of 208 km/h. The new restoration reveals the BMW 530 MLE in all its former glory.
