NEW UAE LABOUR LAW: Have you updated your
policies and contracts?

Contracts to be renewed for a maximum of 3 years - Employers have been given a year to amend contracts

Employers to give women equal pay, extended maternity leave - Employees can be asked to work a maximum of 8 hours a day or 48 hours a week

Employers are prohibited to hire on the basis of race, colour, s*x, religion, nationality, or disability - Discrimination is also prohibited in terms
of duties in the same workplace

The new law prohibits s*xual harassment, bullying, or the use of verbal, physical, or emotional violence against employees - The employer may not use any means of coercion or penalty threat to force employees to perform a task against their will

New UAE Labour Law: Gratuity Calculation

👉Old gratuity calculation scheme for private sector employees under unlimited contracts till their contracts are renewed to limited

👉Until then, employees under unlimited contracts will have their end of service gratuity calculated as per the old Labour Law

👉Contracts renewed or issued after February 2 will automatically follow the new work regulations moving forward

📅Employers have one year to change employment contracts from unlimited to limited.
