October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The initiative began in 1985 to raise awareness about the importance of screening and prevention of the disease. According to breastcancer.org, it impacts approximately 2.3 million women worldwide. Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi also stresses the late detection of Breast Cancer as a growing concern in the UAE. OMB strongly supports this initiative and urges women above 40 to regularly conduct self-examination and clinical screenings, as early detection is the best defence against breast cancer.
