Prediction 2021
I am not taking a grave risk when I predict that 2021 will be the year of process automation. Business managers have been thinking about it, testing the waters and so forth, but the planets have now aligned in a way that will turn casual interest into an imperative this year.

The coronavirus has shown us what business tasks can be done remotely or automated completely. The capability of the software that drives process automation has reached a high level of robustness and speed. Companies everywhere are looking for ways to manage their costs and more importantly, release the true value of their human workforce. It is no longer viable to tie up valuable human resources on tedious repetitive tasks. There is a momentum now building in the process automation field that will flow across all sectors.

We are living now in the Age of Convenience. We expect our goods and services to be delivered how we want them and when we want them, and we want them sooner. Process automation is becoming a core component of the Age of Convenience. The two will grow together.

The Big Shift
I am pleased to advise friends and colleagues that I’ve formed my own company, Autonomous Technologies, to provide customers with an easy path to automate their back office and repetitive administrative tasks.
It’s a strangely wonderful feeling to be both the CEO and Chairman (and chief coffee maker) of my own company. I have the redoubtable and technically advanced Waliudden Khan as my Chief Operating Officer and together we are going to show our customers how they can best blend their human and digital resources to save big money, boost efficiency and free up resources to grow their business.
I have experience in process automation, having implemented a suite of automation bots in company with revenue of USD50mil annually. I know where the problems and sticking points lie, and I know how to solve them.
