Some big numbers on this beast of a villa! 30,000 sq ft, 3 years of design and construction, 10m high entrance, 17m high triple storey staircase with three cantilevered staircases, 8 bathrooms, 6 bedrooms, 3 living rooms and 2 kitchens. Mojo was engaged by the client to carry out Interior Design and Interior Architecture. The brief was an understated 5 star hotel with modern classic interiors. For the interior architecture, we decided to infuse the arch with a modern interpretation of classic timber wall panelling, hence the groove detailing on walls and ceilings.

Tomahawk is a modern, upscale brand of fast casual American restaurants, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We were engaged for interior design, architecture and branding to convert an old showroom in the Al Suweidi district of Riyadh, for the client’s third outlet.

The industrial space had a massive 11 metre height with a partial mezzanine floor. To create interest and movement within the building, we introduced several more floor levels at different heights, together with a bridge linking the interior to the exterior dining areas.

The property footprint was narrow and only had the main facade for daylight, resulting in a dark area at the back. We solved this problem by opening the side elevation, adding daylight via glass bricks and structural steel that tied into the structure for the new floor levels.

We maximised the use of the external spaces and created a sense of discovery and mystery through partial steel facades at the front and set back. Entry to the property is at a higher level than the main floor level and delivers an uplifting feeling upon arrival.

Our branding process advised a subtle Native American approach together with a simple industrial interior to sit well in the market segment and appeal to the local demographic.

Following the successful design of the project, the client retained our services to redesign their older two outlets.
