Ghutra Waving

At the heart of Dubai’s vibrant metropolis, our ALBAL Design Studio headquarters stands as a testament to contemporary design. To soften its bold, masculine lines, we engaged in a creative dialogue with .weavingspaces to drape the building in a symbol of heritage and protection.

Inspired by the Ghutra, the traditional Arab headdress, this installation serves as a functional and symbolic skin. Just as the Ghutra shields from the desert sun and sand while representing dignity and pride, our facade protects and defines our creative home.

Beyond aesthetics, this "woven" layer is a calculated environmental response, regulating garden light and diffusing wind through its breathable texture. The resulting interplay of light and shadow mimics desert dunes, grounding our workspace in the region’s deep cultural resonance.
