Eros, a peanut-shaped asteroid measuring around 16 miles (26 kilometers), is part of the Amor group of near-Earth asteroids. The estimate, based on data from NASA's NEAR Shoemaker spacecraft, has generated excitement among scientists and space enthusiasts, paving the way for ambitious dreams of future space mining endeavors.
