The newly opened Zayed National Museum in Abu Dhabi features a major, 18-metre-long, full-scale reproduction of a Magna Boat. Dated back at the Bronze Age, this vessel that highlights the region's ancient maritime trade. It was built using 4,000-year-old techniques, including 15 tons of reeds and goat hair sail, binding reeds with date palm fibre rope and coating them with bitumen.
The boat successfully passed sea trials in 2024, proving the seaworthiness of ancient, reconstructed technology.
