The Harmattan(Dry Season) is here again and one of the diseases this season comes with is Chronic respiratory disease (CRD).

CRD is one of the most common causes of disease in fowls. Chronic respiratory disease (CRD) occurs when chickens and turkeys that are infected with Mycoplasma gallisepticum are stressed. The bacteria then causes major damage to the bird's respiratory system.
What are the symptoms of CRD in poultry?

MG infection in chickens is also known as Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD). MG usually causes only mild clinical signs and lesions in chickens. Symptoms of MG include coughing, sneezing, rales, difficulty breathing, nasal discharge and foamy eyes . MG also can reduce growth rate and egg production

Treatment involves the administration of a combination of antibiotics (e.g doxycycline hydrochloride and tylosine tartrate) into the drinking water for 7days.
