Al-Masjid an-Nabawi – The Prophet’s Mosque

Located in the holy city of Medina, Al-Masjid an-Nabawi is the second holiest mosque in Islam, after Masjid al-Haram in Mecca. Built by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in 622 CE, it is a place of deep spiritual significance for Muslims worldwide. The mosque is home to the Green Dome, under which the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Abu Bakr, and Umar are buried. Open 24/7, it welcomes millions of worshippers each year, offering a serene atmosphere for prayer and reflection.

The Kaaba, the holiest site in Islam, is a cube-shaped structure located at the center of Masjid al-Haram in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. It is built from black and solid stones, which were extracted from the mountains of Mecca, particularly Jabal al-Kaaba.

The dimensions of the Kaaba are as follows:

Height: Approximately 13.1 meters

Eastern side (between Hajar al-Aswad and the Iraqi Corner): Approximately 12.84 meters

Northern side (between the Iraqi Corner and the Levantine Corner): Approximately 11.28 meters

Western side (between the Levantine Corner and the Yemeni Corner): Approximately 12.11 meters

Southern side (between the Yemeni Corner and Hajar al-Aswad): Approximately 11.52 meters

These dimensions indicate the nearly cubic structure of the Kaaba.

Each year, millions of Muslims from around the world travel to Mecca to perform Hajj and Umrah. For instance, during the Hajj season of 1444 AH (2023 AD), the number of pilgrims reached 1,845,045, including 1,660,915 from outside Saudi Arabia and 184,130 from within the country.
