Restaurant Conversation
Waiter: Good evening. Welcome to Sunset Café. How many people are in your party?
Customer: Good evening. Just two, please.
Waiter: Of course. This way, please. Here’s the menu. Would you like something to drink while you decide?
Customer: Yes, I’ll have a glass of water, and my friend will have an orange juice.
Waiter: Certainly. I’ll be right back.
(A few minutes later)
Waiter: Here are your drinks. Are you ready to order?
Customer: Yes. I’ll have the grilled chicken with vegetables.
Friend: And I’ll take the beef steak, medium-rare, please.
Waiter: Great choice. Would you like any side dishes?
Customer: Yes, a small salad, please.
Friend: No, thank you.
(After the meal)
Waiter: How was everything?
Customer: Delicious, thank you. Could we have the bill, please?
Waiter: Of course. Here you are.

Vocabulary & Meanings
1. Party – A group of people together (in this context, a group eating at the restaurant).
2. Menu – A list of food and drinks available in a restaurant.
3. Order – To ask for food or drinks in a restaurant.
4. Grilled – Cooked over direct heat, usually on a grill.
5. Medium-rare – A way of cooking steak where it is partly cooked but still red inside.
