🌟 MENTORS IN ACTION 🌟

Real change begins when citizens identify a problem and work together to become part of the solution.

As part of D-HUB – Digital Hub for Youth Civic Action in Durrës, the group mentored by Esma Mustafa launched an advocacy initiative to address road infrastructure and safety concerns on “Ali Neki Puka” Street in Neighborhood No. 8, one of the most frequently used areas near the Regional Hospital of Durrës.

🚧 Damaged Road surfaces and potholes.
🚗 Difficult circulation for vehicles due to poor infrastructure and double parking.
⚠️ Increased risk of accidents, especially for children and pedestrians.
💡 A shared vision for safer, more accessible, and better-connected communities.

Through online meetings, teamwork, and collaborative planning, participants worked to:
✅ Identify and document community concerns
✅ Collect evidence and visual documentation
✅ Develop an advocacy and awareness-raising initiative
✅ Engage with local institutions and decision-makers
✅ Propose concrete solutions for infrastructure improvement

What makes this initiative special is not only the problem it highlights, but the vision it promotes: transforming neglected public spaces into safe and accessible environments for everyone. The group also developed visual examples showing how the road could look after reconstruction, helping citizens and institutions imagine a better future for their neighborhood.

As part of D-HUB – Digital Hub for Youth Civic Action in Durrës, the group mentored by Alma Shehi worked to address a concrete road safety issue in the village of Kullë.

🚧 A road identified as a potential accident hotspot.
📸 Documenting the situation on the ground.
🤝 Young people collaborating to gather information and develop practical solutions.
📝 Preparing an official request for the review and installation of convex traffic mirrors on “Rruga e Ferhatit.”
💡 A tangible example of how civic engagement can be transformed into meaningful action.

Through online meetings, task-sharing, and teamwork, participants strengthened their skills in:
✅ Identifying local challenges
✅ Teamwork and shared responsibilities
✅ Drafting civic requests and proposals
✅ Communicating with institutions
✅ Advocating for positive change in their community

Open Call for Two Facilitators on Digital Inclusion
The Digital Inclusion Initiative project is seeking two external regional facilitators with expertise in Digital Inclusion to support the preparation and delivery of a Peer Learning Workshop on the topic "Harnessing Artificial Intelligence for Equitable Digital Inclusion: Opportunities, Risks, and Practical Pathways"
The workshop will bring together project consortium members, selected grassroots organizations, and leaders of national coalitions to exchange experiences, address common challenges, and explore innovative approaches to digital inclusion. Facilitators will lead interactive sessions, encourage peer learning, and support collaborative problem-solving to strengthen participants’ capacity to apply digital inclusion strategies in diverse contexts.
