Is classical music boring?

Yes, if you’re a stool.

In a school uniform and with a stone face — that’s how someone who has never listened to classical music might imagine it.
Or someone who listened, but under duress: “This is great music, now you must enjoy it.”

Right away, there’s tension and rejection.
And, of course, the feeling that you have to pass an exam. Passed — great, didn’t get it — well, sorry, you’re not there yet.

Now, let’s take a deep breath. And exhale.

Because all of this — it’s myths.
Just like the persistent myth that Shostakovich only wrote tragedies (even though he has a jazz suite where the piano flirts with the xylophone).

Классика — это скучно? Да, если вы — табуретка.
В школьной форме и с каменным лицом — примерно так себе представляет классическую музыку человек, который никогда её не слушал.
Или слушал, но под диктовку: «Это великая музыка, сейчас ты должен насладиться».

Все, тут сразу и напряжение и отторжение.
И, конечно, ощущение, будто надо сдать экзамен. Сдал — молодец, не понял — ну извините, не дорос.

А теперь вдохнем. И выдохнем.

Потому что это всё — мифы.
Причем такие же устойчивые, как миф о том, что Шостакович писал только трагедии (хотя у него есть джаз-сюита, в которой рояль флиртует с ксилофоном).
