Մեր ցանցը գերազանցել է Սթենֆորդի, MIT ու Կալիֆորնիայի տեխնոլոգիական համալսարանի պես հաստատություններին։ Նվաճումը ևս մեկ անգամ ընդգծում է 42-ի peer-to-peer կամ «ընկերն ընկերոջը» դասավանդման մոդելի ու կրթական ծրագրի առաջադեմությունն, արդիականությունը ու մրցունակությունը։

«42-ում սկզբից վախենում ես, հետո՝ այստեղից տուն գնալ չես ուզում»

Արևիկը 42 Երևան ընդունվեց 2020-ի ամենաառաջին Ավազանն անցնելով, ու որոշեց սովորել՝ համալսարանին զուգահեռ։ Այստեղ ամեն ինչ այլ էր՝ peer-to-peer մոդել, ոչ դասախոսներ, ոչ դասաժամեր։ Սկզբից դա նույնիսկ վախեցնող էր։ «Չէի հասկանում՝ ո՞նց պիտի սովորեմ, եթե ոչ ոք չի բացատրում, բայց այդ փուլը տևեց 1-2 օր։ Հետո արդեն տուն չէի ուզում գնալ 42-ից», – հիշում է նա։

Արևիկը շեշտում է՝ մարդիկ իրար օգնությամբ հաճախ ավելի արագ ու խորն են սովորում, քան դասական կրթության պայմաններում։ Նա ընդգծում է նաև, որ 42 Երևանում, աշխատում էր իրական նախագծերի վրա, որոնք պետք էին գալու նրան ապագա կարիերայում։ 42 Երևանը մեծ դեր խաղաց նաև ոլորտում կապեր ձեռք բերելու գործում։ «Համալսարանում չես հասկանում՝ ինչպե՞ս աշխատաշուկա մուտք գործել։ Իսկ այստեղ tech-համայնքի հետ շփումներն օգնեցին հասկանալ՝ ինչպես ինտեգրվել այդ միջավայրում», – շեշտում է նա։

Արևիկը DevOps engineer է՝ աշխատել է Zealous-ում, հետո անցել ֆրիլանսի։ Ֆրիլանսն օգնում է ապրել սեփական ռիթմով՝ արշավներ, օպերա և բալետ, սահադաշտ, ազգային պարեր։ Արևիկն ընդգծում է, որ 42 Երևանում սովորելու շնորհիվ արդեն կարիերայի սկզբում ուներ այնպիսի գիտելիքներ, որոնք սովորաբար ձեռք են բերում աշխատելու ընթացքում։ «DevOps շատերը գալիս են IT Support-ից կամ սիսադմինությունից։ Իսկ իմ բազան հիմնային ծրագրավորման լեզուներն են՝ C, C++, որոնք 42 Երևանում եմ սովորել։ Դա ինձ ամբողջական պատկերացում է տալիս՝ որտեղից է սկսվում և որտեղ է ավարտվում նախագիծը», - ասում է նա։

“At 42, you’re scared at first – then you don’t want to go home.”

Arevik is one of the very first students of 42 Yerevan. She joined in 2020, after completing the very first Piscine, and decided to combine her studies there with a university education.

Everything felt different from the start – peer-to-peer model,no teachers, no lectures. At first, it wasn’t just unfamiliar, it was intimidating. “I didn’t understand how I was supposed to learn if no one was explaining anything. But that phase lasted only one or two days. After that, I didn’t want to leave 42 and go home,” she recalls.

Arevik stresses that people often learn faster and more deeply by helping each other than they do in traditional education. She also emphasizes that, unlike at university, she was working on real projects – the kind she would actually need in her future career.

The school also played a big role in helping her build connections in the field.
“At university, you don’t really understand how you’re supposed to enter the job market. At 42, interacting with the tech community helped me not only gain knowledge, but also understand how to integrate into that world,” she says.
While studying at 42, Arevik became a DevOps engineer at Zealous, and later moved into freelancing. Freelancing allows her to live on her own terms – going on hikes, attending opera and ballet, skating, and practicing traditional dance.
“Our profession usually means spending a lot of time in front of a screen. That’s why it’s important to stay active outside of it,” she explains.

Arevik also points out that thanks to 42, she already had knowledge at the start of her career that many DevOps engineers only gain on the job.

“Most DevOps engineers come from IT support or system administration. My foundation is in core programming languages like C and C++, which I learned at 42. That gives me a complete picture of where a project starts and where it ends,” she says.

42 Երևանում House-ների շրջանակներում ուսանողները սեղանի խաղերի մրցույթ էին կազմակերպել 🏆

42 Երևանում խաղերն ուսման շարունակությունն են։ Դրանք, առաջին հերթին, թույլ են տալիս կտրվել ուսումնական խնդիրներից, լիցքավորվել ու սովորել թարմ ուժերով։ Մարդիկ խաղալով նաև զարգացնում են հաղորդակցվելու, պլանավորելու և խմբով գործելու հմտությունները։

Բացի այդ, խաղերն օգնում են ուսանողներին ստեղծել ընկերական ու աջակցող միջավայր հենց դպրոցի ներսում։ Նման շփումները կոտրում են պատնեշներն ու համատեղ աշխատանքը դարձնում բնական ու անկաշկանդ, ինչը կենսական նշանակություն ունի peer-to-peer մոդելի համար։

As part of Houses competition, students of 42 Yerevan organized a board game tournament 🏆

At 42 Yerevan, indoor games are a continuation of the learning process. First and foremost, they allow students to step away from academic challenges, recharge, and return to their work with renewed energy. At the same time, through play, students develop communication, planning, and teamwork skills.

In addition, games help students create a friendly and supportive environment within the school. These interactions break down barriers and make collaboration feel natural and effortless – something that is essential in a peer-to-peer learning model.

Ուսանողների ձևավորած House-ները՝ փոքր թիմերը, մի քանի ամիս մրցում են թե՛ ծրագրավորման, թե՛ ստեղծագործ առաջադրանքների, թե՛ բանավեճերի դաշտում։ Այդ բանավեճերը թեմաների լայն շրջանակ են ընդգրկում՝ tech-ոլորտից բնապահպանություն, սոցիալական ու կրթական թեմաներ։ Արդյո՞ք պետք է արգելել միանգամյա օգտագործման պլաստիկը, կարո՞ղ է արդյոք հասարակական տրանսպորտն անվճար լինել, ավելի լավ է հեռավա՞ր աշխատել, թե՞ գրասենյակում, ի՞նչ ռիսկեր ու հնարավորություններ է բերում AI-ը ծրագրավորողին։

At 42 Yerevan, learning is not just about writing code – it’s also about developing fundamental skills 🗣️

Student-formed Houses, compete over several months in programming challenges, creative tasks, and debates. These small team debates cover a wide range of topics, from tech to environmental, social, and educational issues, such as should single-use plastic be banned, could public transportation be free, is remote work better than working from an office, and what risks and opportunities does AI bring for programmers?

These debates strengthen critical thinking, argumentation, and collaboration skills – all of which students will rely on throughout their studies and future careers.

Ի՞նչ կա 42 Երևանում, որ բուհական կրթությունը չունի 🎯

Արմենն այսօր Forex-ենթակառուցվածքներ ստեղծող IronFX ընկերությունում ավագ ծրագրավորող է ու 42 Երևանի առաջին ուսանողներից մեկը։ Նա եկել էր 42 դպրոց դեռ 2020-ին, կորոնավիրուսի համաճարակի ժամանակ, ու, բուհին զուգահեռ, սկսել սովորել 42 Երևանի «ընկերն ընկերոջը» մեթոդով։

Մեթոդն, ըստ Արմենի, մի մեծ առավելություն ունի։ Համալսարանական լսարանում մարդիկ հաճախ հարց չեն տալիս դասախոսին, մտածելով, որ կամ կխանգարեն դասին, կամ ավելի ուշ տանն ինքնուրույն կսովորեն։ Երբեմն էլ անգամ ամաչում են հարցի թվացյալ պարզությունից։ 42-ում այդպես չէ, շեշտում է նա՝ կրթական մոդելի շնորհիվ ամեն ինչ անցնում է հարցուպատասխանով ու քննարկմամբ։

«Այստեղ շատ տարբեր մարդիկ են հավաքված՝ կան 13 տարեկանից ծրագրավորմամբ հետաքրքրվողներ ու 30-ում ոլորտն ու աշխատանքը փոխել որոշածներ։ Կարող է թվալ, թե հավասարություն չկա, սակայն, իրականում, 42-ում հակառակն է։ Դու սովորում ես մեկ ուրիշից, ուրիշները՝ քեզնից, ու ոչ թե ինչ-որ մեկը կաղում է, մյուսներն՝ առաջ ընկնում, այլ բոլորդ գիտելիքի անընդհատ աճ ունեք», – պատմում է Արմենը։

What does 42 Yerevan have that traditional universities don’t? 🎯

Armen Grigoryan is now a Senior Software Engineer at IronFX, building Forex infrastructure – and one of the first students of 42 Yerevan. He joined back in 2020, during the pandemic, combining it with his university studies while learning through 42’s peer-to-peer model.

For Armen, that model has a clear advantage. During lectures at university, people often don’t ask questions – they worry about interrupting, assuming they’ll figure it out later, or they assume that the question is too basic. At 42 Yerevan, it works differently. The structure itself pushes everything toward discussion, constant back-and-forth, and asking questions without hesitation.

“You see very different people here – some got into programming at 13, others decided to switch careers at 30. At first, it might feel like there’s no level playing field. In reality, it’s the opposite. You learn from others, others learn from you. No one falls behind while someone else pulls ahead – everyone is constantly growing,” Armen says.

Education at 42 Yerevan is free and open to anyone over 18.
