«Շարան» արհեստների կենտրոնը հիմնադրվել է 1993 թվականին, նպատակ ունենալով հայկական ավանդական արհեստի պահպանումն ու զարգացումը՝ արհեստավորներին միջազգային շուկա ելք ապահովելու միջոցով:
Այդ ժամանակվանից «Շարանը» իր արտադրանքը արտահանում է հիմնականում ԱՄՆ և այլ երկրներ:
