Pauline Marcelle presented ‘Urban Vignettes’ in ‘Dialogues with a World on Fire’: a series of small-format oil paintings, including ‘Double Dutch’, ‘Code Three’, and ‘No Ped Xing’, that capture fragments of urban life with sharp wit and layered meaning. Painted in 2005, the works combine cultural references, street-level observations, and personal reflections, offering intimate snapshots of contemporary experience. Marcelle’s contributions highlight the exhibition’s broader aim: to spark dialogue around resilience, culture, and imagination in times of upheaval.
