Way Up North, or WUN, started in Stockholm, Sweden back in 2015. Europe’s Wedding Photography Conference

Update time. Sometimes we pull back the curtain and show you what we're working on.

Vienna is the focus, and it's shaping up differently than our other shows. Ten presenters instead of the usual sprawl. Small, intentional, mighty. They're already deep into their prep, and you'll see the full schedule soon - including what they're actually presenting on. Quality over quantity has always been the move, but this time we really meant it.

The party might matter more than the presentations. We have a few venues lined up, but here's where you come in: what should the party theme be? DM us or drop a comment. We're listening.

Between Vienna planning sessions, we're also sketching out fall 2026 - event number twenty since 2015. Twenty. That number sits heavy. Where should we host it? We have thoughts, but your input steers this ship more than you know. Tell us where the 20th WUN absolutely needs to happen.

The 2025 WUN Awards are being judged as we speak. The effort these judges are putting in - especially grinding through the video submissions - deserves real recognition. We're genuinely grateful they signed up for this.

A few weeks back we hosted a community gathering in Amsterdam, just because we felt like it. Winter kept some people away, but the ones who showed up brought stories and photos and exactly the kind of energy we started this whole thing for. We loved it enough to do it again. Brussels is next in February. Want us in your city? Just say the word.

Workshops keep moving. Lanzarote next week, then Madeira and Dolomites - both still have spots. Rome in May with Fer Juaristi is nearly full, only a few left. All couples confirmed, all details locked. They're happening. More coming before and after summer.

One last thing: scroll through the ten photos in this post. One image from each Vienna presenter. They're tagged so you can see who took what. The diversity in approaches is exactly why this lineup works. And yes, tickets are still available - Vienna isn't sold out yet.

Onwards and upwards. That's what we've had cooking this January to start 2026.

New year, new gatherings. First up: Amsterdam next week on January 8th at Social Hub Amsterdam City (not Social Hub Amsterdam West).

Quick reminder of what this is: Pic-Time is supporting us to bring people together for an evening of storytelling and conversation. It's free, it's open to anyone, and the goal is simple - get photographers in a room, have drinks, hang out.

The format: we're hosting a storytelling evening where guests share photos and the stories behind them. Want to participate? Great. Would rather sit back and watch? Also great. Zero pressure either way.

Here's what we need from you: RSVP so we can estimate numbers (not mandatory, but helpful). And even better? Tell ten friends. Free gatherings like this work when people actually show up.

The gathering runs 19h to 23h at The Het Parool Theatre inside Social Hub Amsterdam City. Thanks again to Pic-Time for making this happen.

Every year around this time, manifestos start appearing. State of the union addresses, predictions for the year ahead, declarations about what's right and wrong with weddings. We've been around long enough to remember the mason jar manifesto, and we hope to be around long enough to see whatever trend comes next.

When we see these manifestos, we feel two things. First, we're glad there are voices who care enough to share how they feel and cast it into the wild. Second, we remind ourselves at WUN to stay in our lane. We're an event that gathers a community, and we want to be as excellent as possible at that. That's what we do.

With that said, thank you for allowing us to do what we do. 2025 has been wild - we started it with the Supper Club idea, moved into two large shows in Berlin and Stockholm, and we've spent the back half digging our heels in to make Vienna an excellent gathering next May.

If WUN had a manifesto, it'd be this: gather people, create space for offline connection, repeat. Handshakes, hugs, hi-fives. Not particularly revolutionary, but there's something beautiful about taking a simple idea seriously and refusing to complicate it.

This cinema is where that simple idea continues next May. Tickets still available. Thank you for a remarkable year - see you in person in 2026.
