Presentation of the calendar 2025 on November 30, 1-3pm

It was April 2024, my dear friend Gudrun Wallenböck was visiting Iran, and we were enjoying life, spending time together whilst like everyone else in the world trying to ignore what was happening in Gaza. Then Israel attacked the Iranian Embassy in Damascus and when Iran retaliated, it dawned on me that this conflict was no longer just going to be contained within the confines of Gaza but would spread to the wider Middle Eastern region. This required us to take some kind of an action. But what can artists and art lovers do?

The idea of an art exhibition in places that were protected from the current war presented itself. We wanted to put on an exhibition of original caricature and cartoons done by Iranian artists to bring home to observers their messages of peace and resistance to war in succinct graphic images for an image obsessed world. This exhibition and calendar for 2025 are ways to focus on what all of us should concentrate on. The calmness and serenity of peace where we can plan for human improvement as opposed to its destruction which is our main objective in life.

Die Performance-Reihe resident alien setzt die Arbeit von Renald Deppe (1955-2023) fort, um im hinterland Bezüge zwischen Bildender Kunst und Musik / Performance herzustellen, um aktuellen gesellschaftlichen Fragen und ihrer künstlerischen Reflexion Raum zu geben. Kuratiert von Peter Herbert, Johannes Kretz, Tobias Leibetseder und Marie-Therese Rudolph werden Musiker_innen und Performance-Künstler_innen eingeladen, welche in großer Diversität sich mit wichtigen Fragen der Gegenwart auseinandersetzen und mit ihren künstlerischen Beiträgen Statements setzen und zur Reflexion anregen.
