How did you spend the New Year, and is it important to you to celebrate it?

I was in South Tyrol with family and friends, and we had a wonderful view of the valley. The surrounding mountains seemed protective and strong. It was beautiful and inspiring to be able to enjoy this wonderful natural landscape. Many of these moments reminded me of the landscapes in my paintings; I strongly identified with them. Wide valleys and high, protective mountains. It's this inner image and feeling that most beautifully reflects my ideal vision of inner life at the moment.
