What happens when an emergency becomes routine? How does cold alter the perception of domestic, urban, and rural space? What remains embedded in matter and in the body, and what lies ahead?

»After the Winter« — an exhibition in the window gallery of ERSTE Foundation, presented with Office Ukraine, reflects on these questions.

»Winter«, here, is not a season but a set of conditions: darkness, cold, disrupted water and electricity — realities that reshape how space is experienced. Everyday objects like radiators, blankets and power banks become symbols of endurance. »After« does not imply resolution. It marks a fragile interval following exhaustion, before experience settles into history.

Bringing together Ukrainian artists living in Ukraine and abroad, the exhibition looks at how prolonged war reshapes perception, everyday life and artistic practice — from direct experiences on the ground to displacement, distance and fractured belonging.
