📢 World Health Assembly adopts resolution on medical imaging

A new World Health Assembly resolution, supported by International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), calls for strengthening medical imaging capacity to ensure equitable access for patients.

The resolution, informed by an IAEA-initiated commission, is the first comprehensive global assessment of medical imaging-related needs and resources worldwide.

It urges countries to promote access to medical imaging through investment in infrastructure, workforce development and the safe use of radiation.

Today is World Day for Safety and Health at Work .

This year, the International Labour Organization highlights the importance of a healthy psychosocial working environment. The IAEA supports this by helping countries strengthen their safety culture for radiation protection. This is particularly important in areas such as healthcare, where clear roles, open communication, and a respectful, well-functioning workplace support safer patient care.
