A dated 90s office building reimagined for contemporary living

Conversion instead of new construction was the guiding principle of this project in Vienna’s 9th district. Demolition was never an option, working with the existing structure while adding architectural value was the primary goal.

Most units are oriented to both sides of the building, ensuring good cross-ventilation and providing space for balconies or small terraces.

In designing the street-facing façade, special attention was given to its appearance, taking into account the colors and materials of the surrounding buildings. Altetnating patterns made of light gray clinker brick slips give the building’s frontage a clean, classically structured look.

Time for a before & after
As spring greenery is emerging everywhere at the moment, we’re sharing a small archive throwback to our Wolfshof residential project, completed in 2017.

The complex consists of two new buildings, a renovated wing, as well as an existing building. Its vivid center consists of a large patio which invites to dwelling and relaxing: Seating islands alternate with raised beds for the community and neighborhood gardens. Nearly a decade later, the green concept stretches over trellises on the facades to the balcony areas.
