/////10 YEARS NON FUNXION/////
Today marks the 10th anniversary of our first event. It was a cold Thursday. Remarkably heavy snowfalls the night before had covered Vienna under a generous layer of snow. By the morning the city was tranformed, it had a dreamy vibe, frightingly beautiful.

Our promo-campaign had consisted of 100 white flyers of thick paper that looked like wedding-invitations, ceremoniously distributed by Pauli and me over the course of two weeks to selected strangers in the streets who caught our attention. Would anyone come?

Getting the equipment to Club-U was adventurous. I couldn't discern the way because of the snow, so I ended up driving right through Resselpark and parking my car in the middle of what I later realized was the lawn. A few last meters of medium-steep but maximum-slippery slope made the unloading menacingly interesting.

The party turned out cool, our friends came, some strangers too, Timmy beatboxed, I played music and scratched, we danced, smoked and laughed. The vibe was warm and festive, Non Funxion was born!

A decade later we look back on over 50 events in 15 locations in 3 countries, collaborating with a handful of VJs, light-artists and photographers, as well as over 80 musicians. Up-and-coming stars have shared the decks with underground heroes, newcomers got on stage with leading figures of the scene.

We curated moments and connected people, mindful of creating meaningful experiences, made new friends, lost some, and learned a lot. Our ride hasn't been straight. With no particular destination we've been passionately cruising through that decade, trusting our guts, following our hearts, planning and calculating only for what our instincts evidently manifested as worthwile.

I'm thankful for all the joyous memories, inspiring people, priceless lessons, amazing music, and proud of the fact that, in this giant chaos, we managed to operate and do great things while always staying true to our core principles.

Lately it's gotten a bit quiet over here, but we're quietly cooking up some new s**t that should see the light this year. To another decade, thank you and stay tuned!
