For 76 years, a united Europe has been our home.

Not because we built it.
Because someone else did.

Five years after the war, in a Paris that still smelled of ashes,
Robert Schuman said something that sounded impossible:

“War must become not just unthinkable — but materially impossible.”

We grew up inside that sentence.
Most of us never had to test if it was true.

That’s a privilege. And a problem.

Because peace doesn’t defend itself.
It needs to be spoken — in our own voice, with our own interests, by people who actually live here.

Today we celebrate and have to act.

It’s ours. 🌿
It has to be ours.
