In 2019 an assessment had identified that the old Causeway was approaching the end of its useful life. The new causeway was completed in 2021. In the process of the new causeway being constructed the design was to leave ends of the old causeway in tack as viewing platforms, one on either end. On these ends are Jetty Mount 200w Solar with the NXT Compact Lighting supplied by Pecan Lighting. These have been installed in December 2022 with an eco-friendly LED engine designed to emit a softer orange light for sea and land animals.
