This set of hardcover books is bound in a stunning iridescent blue cloth with a unique pattern that catches the eye. Gold foil stamping on the spine and front cover, as well as the border relief stamping.
The books themselves are in excellent condition, with only minor signs of handling over the years. Both superficially and structurally, the books have been well-maintained and are in sound condition. The fold-out diagrams of geometric studies of Egyptian pyramids and other sacred architecture, as well as the black and white photographic plates throughout the four volumes, add an extra layer of depth and interest to the contents.
It is rare to find all four volumes of this set together in great condition, making this a truly unique and valuable find for collectors. All four volumes are under laminate protective sleeves.
This complete four-volume set on Pyramidology is a fascinating and rare collection of works that delves deep into the mysteries of the Great Pyramid of Giza. Collins Australia, 1988 (first edition).
Purple cloth hardcover, gilt to spine. Octavo. Both book and dust jacket in near mint condition. Only very minor shelf wear to bottom of boards. Black and white illustrations, bibliography, index. Pages are immaculately clean, no fading or inscriptions. Dust cover under protective laminate. An excellent copy of an incredibly rare book.
During the 1950s and early 1960s the Sydney-based trance-artist and Pan-worshipper, Rosaleen Norton, was well known in Australia as ‘the Witch of Kings Cross’ and was frequently portrayed in the tabloid press as an evil ‘devil-worshipping’ figure from the red-light district. Norton attracted attention from both the public at large and also the local police for engaging in bizarre pagan sex-rituals with her lover, the poet Gavin Greenlees. Details of these activities would surface from time to time in the local courts when Norton was defending her metaphysical beliefs and seeking to defuse claims that her magical paintings and drawings were obscene.
Norton was also associated with the scandal that eventually engulfed the professional career of renowned musical conductor, Eugene (later, Sir Eugene) Goossens who had arrived in Australia in 1947 and became a member of Norton’s magical coven six years later. Norton dedicated her magical practice to the Great God Pan and to a lesser extent Hecate, Lilith and Lucifer.
Pan’s Daughter is the only biography of Rosaleen Norton and provides the most detailed and authoritative account of her magical beliefs.

Ballantyne Press, late 19th C
Brown clothbound hardcover with gold foil titling to spine. Sewn pages. Good to very good condition. The wear to this item is mostly superficial, showing signs of typical shelf wear and scuff marks to corners and bottom of spine. Structurally in good condition, no major damage to binding. A significant amount of foxing and page tanning. A good copy despite its considerable age.
This is Franz Hartmann’s biography of Paracelsus. It includes a broad yet detailed survey of his teachings on a wide range of subjects, including Cosmology, Anthropology, Pneumatology, Medicine, Magic, Alchemy, Astrology, Philosophy and Theosophy or Occultism. Paracelsus (1493-1541), born Philippus Aureolus Theophrastus Bombastus von Hohenheim, was a Swiss German philosopher, physician, botanist, astrologer, and general occultist. He is credited as the founder of toxicology. He is also a famous revolutionary for utilising observations of nature, rather than referring to ancient texts, something of radical defiance during his time. He is credited for giving zinc its name, calling it zincum. Modern psychology often also credits him for being the first to note that some diseases are rooted in psychological conditions. Paracelsus’ most important legacy is likely his critique of the scholastic methods in medicine, science and theology. According to Mme. Blavatsky, founder of the Theosophical Society, he was an “Adept-Initiate”. She calls him “the great and unfortunate physician-Occultist and the greatest Alchemist of the age”.
