If your teeth are feeling a little tender during your first week of orthodontic treatment, sticking to soft, cold foods and drinks is a great way to provide some relief. Cold foods in particular have the added benefit of numbing your mouth a little!

Some great ideas include:

🔹 Smoothies
🔹 Scrambled eggs
🔹 Soups
🔹 Soft fruits such as ripe bananas
🔹 Porridge;
🔹 And of course....ice cream!

When should my child first visit an orthodontist? 😁

There is no fast and hard rule when to first send your child to an orthodontist, however, when they start losing their baby teeth is usually a good time, between the ages of 7-9 years. You may be referred earlier or later by your general dentist for early intervention.
