"The thoughts used to feel like a storm, but now they feel like a breeze." 💬

When Luke* came to Sonder's Northern Adelaide Medicare Mental Health Centre for support, he thought he was battling depression. But as therapy unfolded, he discovered his symptoms were linked to something much deeper: the overwhelming grief of losing his infant daughter.

With compassionate support from Mental Health Clinical Intern Gabriella, Luke learned that healing wasn't about "getting over" his loss, but about finding a way to carry his daughter's memory with more love than pain. 💚

From 5 – 12 July, we are celebrating NAIDOC Week 2026 - a time to recognise and celebrate the histories, cultures, achievements and continuing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. 🖤💛❤️

The 2026 theme, 50 Years of Deadly, honours an important milestone, celebrating five decades of NAIDOC Week as we know it today while recognising the generations of advocacy, resilience, cultural pride and leadership that have shaped its journey.

The 2026 poster artwork, Paralpi, by proud Yankunytjatjara artist Zaachariaha Fielding from the APY Lands, beautifully captures this year's theme. Rich in colour and symbolism, it honours the stories of Ancestors while celebrating the creativity, strength and leadership of younger generations.

There are plenty of ways to get involved across South Australia this week, with markets, arts workshops, film screenings and community events taking place throughout the state.

Tell us in the comments: what are you doing for NAIDOC Week?

Our headspace Onkaparinga team recently came together for a special catered lunch to celebrate Pride Month and enjoy some time connecting as a team. 🌈

The lunch was a chance to focus on staff wellbeing, catch-up with colleagues, and reflect on the importance of creating a workplace where everyone feels welcome, respected and valued.

At our Sonder-led headspace centres, we're committed to creating inclusive and culturally safe spaces for both our team and the young people we support, where everyone feels welcome, respected and valued. 💚
