🚨 This week at Emali Littlehampton, our children participated in β€œThank A First Responder Day” with special visits from local services helping the children to learn about and recognise the support first responders give our community each and every day. πŸš’πŸ¦ΊπŸ‘©β€βš•οΈ

Through meaningful discussions, dress ups, hands-on experiences and some emergency vehicle demonstrations πŸš‘, children explored the important roles of Police, Ambulance, CFS, and SAPN just to name a few, developing an understanding of how these community heroes respond when people need assistance during emergencies and how they help keep us safe. 🩷

Experiences like these are a valuable part of children's learning, helping them build familiarity and confidence around emergency services while fostering an appreciation for the people behind the uniforms.

By creating positive connections and understanding from an early age, children learn more about the world around them and the many people who work together to support our communities.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to all first responders for your dedication, courage and commitment to helping others. ❀️

A pinch of learning, a spoonful of fun and a whole lot of confidence! πŸ‘©β€πŸ³βœ¨

The Emali Morphett Vale children have been busy exploring the joy of cooking while building valuable life skills that support their learning and development.

Did you know cooking helps children develop:
🩷 Fine motor skills through scooping, pouring, whisking and stirring
🩷 Early maths concepts including counting, measurement and capacity
🩷 Communication and language skills through discussions and following instructions
🩷 Turn-taking, cooperation and teamwork when working alongside friends
🩷 Problem-solving and critical thinking as they predict, observe and create
🩷 Confidence, focus and independence by contributing to the cooking process
🩷 Sensory awareness through exploring different textures, smells, colours and tastes

From measuring and mixing to creating and tasting, every step provides meaningful opportunities for learning through play. The best part? Enjoying their delicious creations together and feeling proud of what they achieved!
