Sometimes what looks like self-destructive behaviour 💔 is not a desire to be harmed…
it’s a cry from a nervous system 🌿 that doesn’t know how else to speak.

When the inner conflict feels unbearable 🌧️

When emotions feel too big to hold 🌊

When there is no safe place to turn 🚪

The pain looks for a way out.

Self-destruction is not weakness ❌
It is unspoken distress 🤍 It is the body whispering… and sometimes screaming…
“I don’t know how to carry this anymore.”

Many people were never taught how to sit with their feelings 🪶
Many learned to survive alone 🧍‍♀️
Many still don’t believe it’s safe to reach for support 🤲

But here is the gentle truth ✨

You are still here. 🌸

Your nervous system just learnt survival was the only way it knew how 🛡️ to be safe.

Your patterns were protection… not failure.
And healing begins the moment the pain finds a safer voice 🕊️ A safer outlet 🌿 A safer place to land 🏡 Because the soul cannot heal in silence forever 💫

It was always meant to be seen 👁️
To be heard 🎧
To be held 🤍

If this speaks to you… please know this:
You don’t have to carry your inner battles alone anymore 🌙 There is another way 🌅 And you are worthy of support, softness, and safety… exactly as you are 🌼

The soul cannot return to a body that does not feel safe. And this is something so many people misunderstand about healing.

When you’ve lived through trauma, surgery, shock, or experiences that overwhelmed your nervous system, your body learns to stay on guard.

It tightens. It protects. It stays alert — not because you’re broken, but because it’s trying to keep you safe.

Healing isn’t about forcing yourself to be strong. It isn’t about “moving on” quickly. And it isn’t about pushing your feelings down.

Healing begins when your body slowly learns a new message:
You are safe now.
You can soften.
You can breathe.
You can come home.

Little by little… through gentle moments
through rest through kindness to yourself
through safe people, safe spaces, and safe choices your nervous system begins to settle.

And when the body feels safe… the soul returns.

Presence comes back.
Feeling comes back.
Life comes back.

If your healing feels slow, please remember this:

You are not behind.
You are rebuilding safety.

And safety is the doorway back to yourself.

Your soul is patient. It has never left you.
It is simply waiting for you to feel safe enough to come home. 🤍

There was a time when I realised something quietly, almost tenderly… 🤍 I hadn’t really been living. I had been surviving. 🌧️ For so much of my life, my energy went into getting through… getting past the pain, the stress, the fear, the next hard thing. 💔➡️🌫️➡️

💪 Survival mode keeps you strong. It keeps you going when life asks more of you than feels fair. But survival is heavy. 🪨 And at some point, the heart whispers: I don’t just want to get through the day… I want to feel happy in it. ☀️💛

If you’ve been living in survival mode, please be gentle with yourself. 🌿 Your strength is not something to be ashamed of.

But you are allowed to want more than strength. You are allowed to want ease. 🌸 Lightness. 🕊️ Moments of joy. ✨ Small pockets of peace. 🤍 Healing isn’t only about surviving what hurt you. It’s about slowly teaching your nervous system, your heart, your soul… that it’s safe to live again. 🌅💫

And maybe today, happiness doesn’t have to be big.

Maybe it’s one deep breath. 🌬️ One quiet moment. 🌼 One small thing that feels good. 🤎

That’s how we come back to life.
One gentle moment at a time. ✨🌿💛

It may not be for everyone but thought I'd share it.✨🌻🐝🙏💛

Many books explain how the body remembers trauma. This one shows what it feels like when the body begins to heal. If you’ve read the theory and still wondered what it actually feels like, this book was written for you.

My Body Remembered is written from inside lived experience, from within a nervous system shaped by Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD) and Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Seizures (PNES), and the process of healing and recovery.

My understanding of healing grew not only through professional training, but through listening to my own body over time. After more than 25 years as a counsellor, and later as a self-regulation therapist and psychedelic cannabis guide, I came to see, first in myself, how central nervous system regulation is to both physical and emotional healing.

Chronic stress, trauma, emotional patterns, and deeply held beliefs don’t just live in the mind. They shape brain function, immune response, inflammation, and overall health. This book explores what happens when those patterns begin to shift, through lived experience.

It tells what that change feels like; when the fight-or-flight loosens its grip, and balance begins to return.

I didn’t set out to explain trauma. I set out to survive, and, in doing so, discovered what healing felt like from the inside.

This is a story of remembering…and of learning, slowly and honestly, how to heal.
