Springton shed fire - 8 June 2026: Five trucks carrying 20 firefighters responded to a Triple Zero call at 8:30pm to attend a shed fire at Cookes Hill Road, Springton, in South Australia’s Eden Valley, approximately 27 kilometres south of Angaston.
Upon arrival the CFS volunteers found a farm shed fully engulfed.
The volunteer firefighters were unable to stop the shed from being destroyed but did prevent the fire spreading to nearby sheds and a home.
Damage to the shed, which stored farm equipment and a vehicle, is valued at an estimated $200,000.
SA Police and SA Ambulance Services attended the scene in support, while Fire Cause have been asked to attend.
CFS firefighters will remain on scene for several more hours to ensure the fire is fully extinguished.

Structure fire at Munno Para West - 8 June 2026: Two trucks carrying approximately 10 firefighters responded to Triple Zero to attend a structure fire at Gravity Grove at Munno Para West in Adelaide’s northern suburbs.
Upon arrival CFS volunteers found an occupant attempting to put out the fire with a garden hose.
Utilising breathing apparatus, the volunteers quickly extinguished the fire.
The SA Metropolitan Fire Service provided support on scene, while the SA Ambulance Service were also present and transported one of the home’s occupants to hospital for treatment.
Damage to the property is estimated at up to $60,000.
Fire Investigators have been asked to attend.

A prescribed burn is planned at Lake Hawdon North on the Limestone Coast on Thursday, weather conditions permitting.
The prescribed burn will start at 11am on Thursday May 28 and is likely to be completed by 4pm the same day. Smoke may be visible within the burn area for several days.
▪️The area to be burnt is 60 hectares at the site, which is about 13 kilometres east of Robe.
▪️This burn is part of a series burns planned to enhance feeding habitat for threatened migratory bird species by removing vegetation from the rehabilitated lake area.
▪️No roads or trails will be closed throughout the burn.
▪️Smoke will be visible in the area.
National Parks and Wildlife Service South Australia (NPWS) crews will remain on site until safe.
NPWS conducts a statewide program of prescribed burns to reduce the spread and intensity of bushfires, protect communities and enhance biodiversity.
Prescribed burning is just one tool used to reduce fuel loads across strategic areas of public and private land.
Prescribed burns will only be carried out when it is deemed safe to do so and may be cancelled at short notice.
