Have acne scarring?? π
Donβt worry! At SkinPlus Dermatology we provide both treatments which may assist in rejuvenating your skin.
Chemical peel VS Micro-needling ?
β’ A chemical peel involves applying a chemical solution to a person's skin and, after waiting a set amount of time the peel will peel away- in addition to helping with acne and scarring, it can help with signs of ageing as it exfoliates the top layers of the skin.
- Patients with lighter skin tones can use stronger peels without any risk of discolouration compared to darker tones heightens risk of hyper-pigmentation after skin trauma.
β’ Micro-needling, is puncture of the skin with tiny needles as part of the treatment to stimulate collagen and improve discoloration, as well as improve some of the scarring left behind after an inflammatory process.
* numbing cream is available for this treatment *
- Patients with darker skin tones should treat acne scares with micro- needling.
A case study has shown both treatments works effectively depending on each individuals.
