Project Feature • At Holland Grove, Blair Smith Architecture works with Hecker Guthrie to sensitively transform a family home for a newly blended household. What began as an interior refresh became a more substantial brief, adding a connected main bedroom suite and a freestanding art-therapy studio as two lightweight garden pods.

Shaped by the protection zone of a mature golden elm, the pavilions taper, curve and float above established roots. Warm timber, terrazzo, ceramic tiles and carefully crafted details bring texture and comfort inside, resulting in a home that feels organic, grounded and in tune with its natural environment.

Product Feature • Lo & Co Interiors has released Duet, a two-toned hardware range developed with SMAC Studio founder Shona McElroy.

It is the second collaboration between the two studios following Forma, an exploration of sharp edges and bold geometry.

This time, the reference point is jewellery rather than architecture. Built around a shared interest in mixed metals, Duet pairs brass and polished nickel within every piece, one finish brushed and the other polished.

Project Feature • Occupying a restored Paddington terrace, TheEND’s new Sydney flagship blurs the boundaries between gallery, home and retail through a carefully choreographed interior by LYMT and Smac Studio.

Conceived by founder James Maroun as a “department store for living”, the flagship reflects the expanding scope of TheEND as a lifestyle brand spanning furniture, fashion, art and objects. Rather than functioning as a conventional showroom, it presents as a more immersive domestic setting, inviting visitors to move through the rooms as though inhabiting a home.

Project Feature • Most family homes start from the ground up. Treetop starts in the canopy. Designed by Studio Kennon in Torquay, Victoria, this house is shaped by an adapted traditional floor plan that positions everyday life within the surrounding eucalyptus trees. The move was informed as much by the setting as by the brief itself.

Located at the edge of protected parkland, the site offered an opportunity to engage directly with the bushland rather than simply frame it from afar. By elevating the living spaces, Studio Kennon transformed the upper level into a platform for observing the landscape as it shifts throughout the day and across the seasons.
