Resolution Combatives
Non-commercial, boutique boxing and combat sport training initiative in Alice
River, Townsville, QLD
Hi all! Trainees are of course well aware of this and have since made other arrangements, however, for those who might be interested in visiting Resolution Combatives, we have sold our place in Alice River and, therefore, the gym at that location is now closed. Don't fret though, if all goes well we will be operating on the other side of Townsville in the not too distant future. So Alligator Creek, look out! Will keep everyone posted on updates as they happen (shed build). Take care all.
Kind regards
Doc
Here are some key points to understand about switch hitting in boxing.
It involves dynamic stance switching: In orthodox stance, the boxer's left hand and foot are forward, while in southpaw stance, the right hand and foot are forward. Switch hitting involves transitioning dynamically but smoothly between these two stances to create different offensive and defensive opportunities.
Footwork and timing are a necessity: Switch hitting requires mastery of footwork and timing. The transition between stances needs to be fluid and executed with precision to maintain balance and defensive coverage. Timing is crucial to ensure the switch is not telegraphed, preventing the opponent from capitalizing on the momentary vulnerability during the transition.
Strategic Advantages: Switch hitting offers several strategic advantages. It can disrupt an opponent's rhythm and timing since they must constantly adjust to the changing angles and attacks. It can also create openings for different punches by attacking from unfamiliar angles.
