Today, June 21st, is regarded as Global MND Day worldwide and is a day where we acknowledge the impact of MND on people right across Australia and the world. MND is a devastating disease, it doesn’t discriminate, and it impacts approximately 2,100 Australians and their families at any one time. It’s estimated that every day in Australia 2 people die from MND whilst 2 more are diagnosed.

Why June 21st?

June 21st is a solstice – a turning point – and each year, the MND community undertake a range of activities to express their hope that this day will be another turning point in the search for cause, treatment and a cure of this horrible disease.

As one part of a strong National Network of MND Associations, we will ensure all those living with MND continue receiving the best possible care and support so they can live as well as possible for as long as possible. Because until there are treatments and a cure, that’s what people impacted by MND need most.

As we often say – Until there’s a cure, there’s care.
