Brother Thomas Oliver (Olly) Pickett was named Senior Australian of the Year 2025 for his work with Wheelchairs for Kids.

This organisation provides free adjustable wheelchairs and occupational therapy expertise for children aged 4 to 16 in developing countries, literally getting them 'off the ground' so that they can engage with their peers, go to school and integrate in their communities.

Since 1996 they have custom-build over 60,000 wheelchairs, distributing them to children in more than 80 countries.

“When you believe you are the originator of your gift and it’s coming from you, then it’s very difficult to do anything with that gift, you get stuck.
When you realise that the gift is flowing through you from a higher place, from a greater wisdom and your job is not to create this gift but to translate it into the world (ie. You are the faucet, not the water)…when you realise that, you can get out of the way and let your gift come into the world.
When you openly receive that back – positive or negative – you remain in service”
