We're halfway through & looking forward to week 2!

Today’s theme was all about space 🚀🪐 Inspired by one of our little space enthusiasts! We transformed our OSHC spaces into our very own galaxy. Helen and the children began the day by creating a beautiful Emu in the Sky painting and discussing how Aboriginal astronomy emphasises dark spaces as much as stars, using the sky to track seasons, tides and food. The Emu in the sky exemplifies this approach and we’re so excited to have this piece displayed as a glow in the dark feature in the hive once completed.

We also had fun searching for planets in the OLA, creating our own constellations and launching some rockets sky high!

Educator Will continued to work on the mural with the first sketches completed and some eager junior artists helping with the first coat of spray paint. A successful day and we look forward to seeing you tomorrow for Hoppy Holidays 🐸
