When I first started out as a dietitian years ago, and prior to that, I used to be that coach who encouraged clients straight into calorie cuts, thinking less is more. But guess what? That NEVER worked (at least in the long run)
Here’s the truth: undereating isn’t just about weight loss, it messes with your whole system!
My gut felt like a warzone, I was always tired, and forget building muscle – I felt weak and drained.
Turns out, it wasn’t just me. SO many women eat well below their requirements in a day, even whilst doing insane amounts of exercise. That quite literally is a recipe for disaster.
Here are a few of the reasons why undereating sucks:
❌Gut Blues: Say goodbye to smooth digestion and hello to bloating and discomfort. Your gut thrives on a balanced diet, not deprivation.
❌Metabolic Mayhem: Think you’re speeding up your metabolism by eating less? Nope! Your body goes into survival mode, slowing things down and making weight loss even harder.
❌Muscle Meltdown: Want that toned bod? Forget it if you’re undereating. Muscle needs fuel to grow and stay strong, not constant restriction.
❌Energy Ebb: Feeling like a slug? Undereating zaps your energy, making you tired, sluggish, and grumpy (trust me, I know!).
But the good news is… you dont need to keep doing that! Ditch the calorie counting and focus on nourishing your body with whole, delicious foods, and actually listening to the signals your body is giving you instead of ignoring them.
